• 1 pound chop meat
  • 1 onion chopped small
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbl taco seasoning
  • 2 tbl salsa

i mentioned the other day that i am spring cleaning, heh, spring cleaning, it’s like a shopping spree. not only did i find chopped meat in the freezer but taco shells in my pantry. i didn’t even know i had taco shells. i have a sickness i tell you ;-) a real sickness.

as well as my pantry and freezer i also have a crazy amount of spices. e just counted 28 spice containers, maybe 4 out of all are doubles. that doesn’t count the spices i have sitting on my counter. it’s ridiculous. i try to replace my spices one a year at least, did i mention i hardly use dried spices (why do i have so many?)? shall we go into vinegars? 5 bottles, they range from balsamics to aged white wine.

after i found the chopped meat and taco shells, i remembered the taco seasoning. i then realized what i can do to clean out my spice cabinet, i am going to make some mixes. stay tuned. as for now, how about some tacos?

tacos

  1. in a skillet, add olive oil, when heated add in onion and garlic. saute for a minute or two, add chopped meat, cook for 2-3 minutes.
  2. before the meat browns fully add your taco seasoning and salsa. mix, continue cooking.
  3. get all your favorites out, lettuce, sour cream, salsa, maybe some cheese. serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!

that’s it, so simple and so good. you can taste all the spices and it smells fantastic. i wish my kid’s liked tacos!
