i know, i am supposed to be ranting about food but i couldn’t resist.

every chance i get i have been out in the yard cleaning and prepping for summer. it’s still to cold to do any planting but it never hurts to prep.

today j and i decided to clean up ivy that has been taking over a rock wall and my fence. the ivy eventually takes off and creeps into my garden. last year it killed my corn and this year i am not letting that happen.

as i got to the bottom of the fence i noticed something moving…i love nature, when i was a kid my great grandparents had a house up in white lake ny, we used to spend our summers there. my cousins and i used to catch worms to fish with and  snakes and salamanders to play with. it was fun, and my son has the same fasination that i do when it comes to nature. he loves worms. LOVES. we dig for them all summer long.

don’t worry it was an earthworm, but the biggest earthworm i have ever seen. it was the size of my whole arm. i grabbed it for him and put it in some tupperware, we officially started our worm farm, but this, up there, was right next to it. yes, that is a snake skin. a snake skin!! i didn’t know i had snakes but considering my location i am not shocked.

just wanted to share. have a great weekend! i will be back next week with recipes galore!
