i love bbq’ing. any bbq recipe i can get my hands on i am willing to try. my kids love a good steak, it’s a safe food in my house to bbq. i find it hard to find a good steak marinade i can make at home. i never have much luck. it’s usually a good recipe but nothing i would make again.

i was at a friends for dinner the other night. she found this recipe for steak tacos and was very excited about cooking it for us. of course as soon as the meat came off the grill i walked over and tasted it :-) yeah, i’m one of those, i like to sample.

although this steak marinade tasted great in a taco, it was even better on it’s own. it was kind of rich but light at the same time. the spices came together really nicely, it wasn’t what i was expecting. if your looking for a simple good steak marinade, try this. we plan on making it again.

taco spiced steak marinade     adapted from everyday food

  1. add all of the above ingredients in a bowl and whisk. pour over meat and marinate for at least an hour, the longer the better though.

my friend also poured this over shrimp that she had picked up, it was phenomenal. at my friends house we had this in tortillas and the kids loved it. serve it with a corn salsa, rice and bbq’d onions, or just plain with some corn and salad.
