as i write this it is pouring, i mean really pouring. it’s the kind of summer storm that cools everything off and lights up the sky. the thunder is crazy, i love it. it hasn’t stopped me however, i just lit the bbq.

i love that i get a day to reflect and tell you what has been going on behind the scenes. it’s been a fun week here. we spent a lot of time in the garden investigating the transformation that’s been happening. it’s kind of crazy. we went from a week of small plants to huge plants that are flowering and actually producing. j &p have been really getting a kick out of it. last weekend j took my camera and took some pictures.

my budding photographer. he helped me a lot this week. he loves cooking, and yes, eating. now that everything is growing both my kids have been super curious about what everything tastes like, they walk through my yard grabbing herbs out of pots and sampling. while i am making dinner i get comments like, “mom, whatever is in that green pot, i think you should use it in that salad”.  i love every minute of it. especially as i watched them sample spicy greens.

as you guessed we did a lot of cooking, we actually baked one day! it was a lot of fun and they kids got a kick out of using rhubarb which they have never seen before.

we also ate an enormous amount of meat, more then usual. between the ribs and the taco spiced steak (and what we had tonight, chimichurri) we ate a lot. we did however enjoy much salad as well. i finally, after years, came up with a great vinaigrette.

we had a great week, and i really enjoyed sharing it with you. next week is going to be exciting. i have a great give away, i dropped you a hint on fb, so stay tuned to see what’s in store.

happy weekend! see you monday.
