in theme of loving all my local businesses…(there are 2…flowers first)…tiny hearts farm. if you are a farmers market supporter like me then you have seen these guys. i like to think of them as my new best friends (even though we don’t know each other, really). they don’t have a website but you can find them on fb.

edible arrangements…tea arrangements, wild flowers, scapes and veggies…i mean really…i heart them.

two weeks back our local market started…the moment i walked by their table it was love at first site. i bought a kitchen bouquet. it’s one of those bouquets that you can cook with…edible, see. i used it during the week in everything i cooked, even salads. scapes, kale, there was some kind of mint…it was pure love. next time you see them at the market tell them i said hello and pick up an arrangement, trust me, i have 3 right now.

…and then there is meat…meat. yeah and bacon…i’ve chatted your ears off a 100 times about gaias breath. i just adore them, and their bacon. this time around i picked up sausage (and yes bacon). sausage is not something i love, it’s just something i eat because the man loves it. sometimes you do things for people because you love them (insert my big smile here). but this my friends is love. i am now a fan, and even more of a fan of sausage and peppers. because, hey, that’s what we had for dinner.

the ingredient list is simple: 4 sausages, 1 onion, 1 large pepper, 4 cloves of garlic and 1/2 cup of tomato sauce. what can be easier? and if your bbq is working (mine isn’t) i highly recommend grilling those babies (if your grill doesn’t work, a broiler works just as well).

saute the onion, garlic and pepper for about 10 minutes while the sausage is cooking. add some tomato sauce, give it mix, cook for 2-3 minutes more. this dish is so simple, mix the sausage up with it or just top it with the pepper and onion mixture. eat it over pasta, make a sandwich, or serve it over polenta. it’s the perfect meal, well, for us it was.

happy friday! congrats to the winners!!
