i just recently use the hashtag #ihaventbeenthishungryinweeks.

i heart hashtags. it’s fun making stuff up…and then you click on it and see your the only one who hashtags #ihaventbeenthishungryinweeks. but it’s the truth.

i suddenly got my appetite back. it came out of no where. surprised the heck out of me.

i’ve been slowly re-introducing foods back into my diet. slowly feeling better. slowly figuring things out. feeling awake and energetic. seeing things more clearly.

the recipe below isn’t mine. it marcella’s.

it’s one of those recipes that remind you how much you love food, cooking, creating, eating. it’s one of those recipes that reminds you what you loved, what you crave, how simple everything really is.

so in celebration of me being hungry, craving to cook and wanting more…i share one of my favorite recipes. one the the easiest recipes. one of the best. one that takes a minute to throw together.

merry and happy everything!

(i’m back!)

marcella hazan’s tomato sauce with onion and butter

adapted using the ingredients i had in my house. as you can see from the photo above, i added a couple cloves of whole garlic and a couple of basil leaves.

  • 1  28oz can of san marzano crushed tomatoes
  • 1 onion cut in half
  • 5 tbl butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. place all the ingredients in a pot and simmer for about 45 minutes to an hour.
  2. take onion out.
  3. eat and enjoy.
