so…hey! it’s been a while friend. a long while. about a month.

there’s been craziness. there’s been change. there’s been great stuff happening.

there is no other way to say this so i’m just gonna come right out with it…

this is my last time posting as the food yenta.

whew. i said it, i’ve been so nervous. as i write this i’m shaking…i can’t even imagine what hitting the publish button is going to do to me.

don’t worry, i’m still blogging…and all this…still gonna be here, so please don’t go anywhere.

with in the next week you’ll notice a new logo, a new way of life, but the same adventure, same story.

as most of you know, and as you have seen, my recipes have been changing. medically this has been a rough year for me. there’s been a number of tests and a number of possibilities…in the end, i’m ok, it’s nothing serious, it’s just a diet change.

this diet change has brought me to a new place. a clearer place, a place with no fog, a place where i feel good. there’s no more pain, no more doctors telling me to do this and that, it was simple, and after all that, i’m good. really good.

you can still find me at thefoodyenta.com, but now when you hit return, it will take you to gluten-flee.com. all my old recipes will still be here (and if you look up, it still says the food yenta and will for a while). as a matter of fact, nothing but the name and the logo and some ingredients will really change.

so with this happening, i wanted to celebrate. celebrate a new change, a new beginning, a new me. a happier me. a healthier me.

look out for that new logo…and in the meantime, make some ice pops, cause it’s strawberry season ya’ll.

 strawberry basil ice pops

  • 1 cup chopped strawberries
  • 2 tbl sugar
  • 1 tbl chopped basil
  • 1 1/4 cup coconut water
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  1. to a bowl, add chopped strawberries, basil and sugar. let them marinate at least an hour but over night is even better.
  2. the next day place all of the ingredients in a blender, blend to you reach your desired consistency.
  3. pour in pop molds and freeze.

makes about 8 ice pops depending on your mold size.
