when your just tired and don’t feel like cooking it’s easy to order in. i was feeling very much like that tonight. what an afternoon. i took a quick look in my freezer though to see what kind of leftovers i had only to realize i was a good sister in law this weekend and sent my brother and sister in law home with a bag full of homemade frozen leftovers :-) to bad for me, good for them. i bet their having beef stew right now…

then i saw a bag of frozen shrimp. i remembered i picked up some hot sesame oil and some raw honey at the market. there, i had it! a quick thaw and i had myself a quick, healthy and tasty meal. it was just what i needed.

hot sesame shrimp

  1. in a wok or skillet, add your hot sesame oil, honey and garlic. let heat up for about a minute.
  2. add your thawed or fresh shrimp in the wok/skillet.
  3. cook until shrimp is pink and cooked.

i served it over rice and with a salad, it was a simple meal that took all of 5 minutes to prepare and make (if you don’t count the rice) and it was delicious.

so, what did i learn tonight? i didn’t need take out, i am happy my brother and sister in law might be eating my beef stew and that thrown together meal i made was simple and good. what’s better then sitting down with a good fast home prepared meal and feeling real good about what your eating? nothing :-)i’m glad i didn’t order in tonight or find those leftovers. i actually feel refreshed (that might be because the kids are finally sleeping though;-)
