• 1/2 olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 2 heaping tbl creme fraiche (you could use sour cream)
  • 1 tsp grain mustard
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • handful of fresh herbs (about 1 1/2 tbl) chopped, i used basil, dill, and chives

we have been living off the lettuce in our garden for the last month. sadly i must say, we pretty much picked it clean. every night we go out there and pick some for dinner.

we are huge salad eaters. 99% of the time salad is on our plates for dinner. we add everything from tomatoes and olives, to roasted peppers and cucumbers. sometimes we add cheese, sometimes it’s just lettuce depending on our mood.

i have been on the search for dressing for ages. as you can see here my search is finally starting to pay off. a week or two back i came across a salad dressing recipe while doing a search on creme fraiche. i don’t know much about french cooking, i could be wrong so feel free to correct me, but from what i read this is pretty traditional. white wine vinegar, oil, herbs and creme fraiche.

we have been making this for weeks and living off of it. it is perfect, light, tasty, sweet yet tart, it’s a lovely accompaniment to salad.
