  • 1 tsp SAF yeast

we are preparing for frankenstorm…

yes, that is what we are calling it here in new york. frankenstorm.

i bought milk, gallons of water and an extra gas tank for my bbq in case we loose power.

i’m not totally sure where we will bbq during the storm but we must be prepared for after right?

other then the tons of meat i am not prepared to loose in my extra freezer, i have stocked pizza dough.

there is nothing easier then pizza on the bbq, i think? although, how long will my cheese last if i don’t open my fridge?

eeeeekkkkkk….maybe i’ll just stick to cereal and boxed milk. maybe i should buy more water?

who know’s but my bread machine made pizza dough and i am prepared to use it.

cornmeal pizza dough    adapted from the bread lovers bread machine cookbook

i used bread flour to make this dough even though the recipe called for all purpose flour. i was a little worried but also out of regular flour. the results were amazing. crunchy, light, golden crust. beautiful to look at and amazing to eat.

  1. to your bread machine add wet then dry ingredients.
  2. choose the option for dough press start.
  3. when cycle is done take immediately out of machine. flour your work surface. if making one large pizza roll out the dough quickly, move it around with your hands and place in a floured bowl (a large one). if you are making multiple pizza’s (i got 4 personal pizzas) flour work surface and split into 4′s. place on a floured baking sheet roll out and play with the dough, set aside and cover with a towel.
  4. let dough rest and rise for about 30 minutes. roll out and make pizza.
